President Obama vs. Catholicism on Unemployment (Catechism of the Catholic Church, Section 2436)

There are 23 million Americans (Bureau of Labor Statistics) unemployed, underemployed or have given up looking for employment under President Obama.  President Obama has contributed to unemployment by deliberately putting people out of work.  For example he took away 120,000 persons jobs in the auto industry by deliberately closing over 2,200 auto dealerships during bankruptcy.  The auto dealers not only lost their dealerships.  They lost their jobs too.  Many of these persons and dealerships were in states like Ohio.

The Catholic Church’s teaching on unemployment can be found in section 2436 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church which is written in the context of the Seventh Commandment, “You shall not steal”:

CCC 2436      “Unemployment almost always wounds its victim’s dignity and threatens the equilibrium of his life. Besides the harm done to him personally, it entails many risks for his family.”

Join your Church in defending the human dignity of the worker and his family from President Obama’s wounding unemployment.  Share this information with friends.

O Holy Spirit, strengthen us to defend all that is holy.
