3rd Wrong of Alinsky Inspired Organizing is Deception

Use of deception is huge in Alinsky inspired community organizing.  Typically a socialist community organization in your diocese will get your church to join as a member.  The dues can be as much as $5,000 per year.  Some dues to churches could be more.  One of their common deception methods is misrepresenting who their members are.  When the church joins the community organization, only the church is the member.  However, the organizaton will claim all the parishioners of the church as individual members!  They usually make this claim when lobbying legislators, city councils, etc. for more involuntary redistribution of wealth.  This is duplicitous, illegal and will force the IRS to revoke that organizations non-profit 501(c)(3) status as a charity.  It also demonstrates clearly their use of deception.

They learned it somewhere.  The somewhere is from pages 126-127 of Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky:

“…if your organization is small in numbers… conceal the members in the dark but raise a din and clamor that will make the listener believe that your organization numbers many more than it does.  Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have”

Contrast Alinsky’s words above with these from the Catechism of the Catholic Church in section 2482:

2482 “A lie consists in speaking a falsehood with the intention of deceiving (St. Augustine).”  The Lord denounces lying as the work of the devil:  “You are of your father the devil,…there is no truth in him.  When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44)”

The fourth and final wrong of this series will show their use of ridicule and particularly ridicule of the Catholic Church.  Look for it next week.
